About Mad Hatter Doughnuts

Our Story

Mad Hatter Doughnuts is an independently owned premium doughnut and ice cream shop located in Old Town Sacramento. We take pride in creating unique and delicious donuts, ice cream and other specialty deserts that delight our customers every day.


We started in 2018 as a Food truck working our way up to the largest events along the west coast.  In 2024 we moved into the permanent location in Old Town Sacramento.

Mad Hatter Mini Donuts

Based on Danny's original Mini Donut recipe, Mad Hatter has taken the extra step of offering a more flavorful profile of this classic cake donut experience with a variety of toppings.

Artisan Doughnuts

The original hand made raised doughnuts using locally sourced ingredients.  These are offered on weekends only. 

Gunther's Ice Cream and Freezes

This local favorite premium ice cream has over 90 years of history in Sacramento. 

Milkshakes, Sundaes, Soda Floats, 50/50s and a variety of other offerings.

Sweeten your day with an offering of premium desserts. 

Locally Roasted Artisan Coffee

We work with local roaster The Mill to offer amazing medium roast drip coffee.

Cold Brew Coffee

We offer locally roasted The Mill coffee through a specialized 20 hour soak.  

Pete's Dark Roast

For a classic French roast flavor. 

Chai

Locally made chai with milk and milk alternatives served hot or cold for a sweet refreshing drink. 

Knotty Chai

Combine our fine coffee with our chai to bring a merge of deliciousness.  Served hot or iced. 

We offer additional desserts and snacks based on seasonal availability of ingredients.
